Pre/Post-Natal Fitness Classes

Classes

Due to changing Coronavirus restrictions, most classes below are taking place in-person outdoors, with dates for in-person indoor classes coming this spring. Booking is required, both to ensure in-person classes remain uncrowded and so that secure links can be sent to virtual participants on the morning of each class.

Fit Club

Mondays at 7.30pm (during term time), Queen Mary Gardens, overlooking Gylly Beach, Falmouth
£8 drop-in (space allowing), or paid for in monthly blocks, Email or text me to book your spot (15 maximum). This class is in-person only, and takes place in all weather.

A small group training class with a mix of bodyweight conditioning, band resistance toning and cardio intervals to keep the heart rate elevated, burning more calories. Exercises change weekly, so a range of styles (Pilates, HIIT, Barre, etc.) will inspire a varied workout. Bring a mat for floor exercises, resistance bands (if you have your own, or you may purchase them from me by prior arrangement) and water.

Buggy Burn

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.30-11.30am
Queen Mary Gardens, Gyllyngvase Beach 
£6 each or 5 for £25, rain or shine, all ages/kids welcome. Email or text me to book your spot (15 participants + kids, maximum for in-person classes; unlimited for virtual classes). When severe inclement weather is forecast, class will take place on Google Meet, with secure links provided the morning of class.

An outdoor class that gets you feeling the burn while pushing the pram, using a carrier, or letting your little ones play around you! Conditioning mixed with cardio interval training. Bring a mat, towel or blanket for ground exercises, resistance bands (if you have your own, or you may purchase them from me by prior arrangement), water, and any essential cool weather and rain gear for you and the kiddos. Kids who are happier out of the buggy play together. Pram, slings and kids are optional. Keeping kids at a safe social distance is each parent's responsibility.

Barre

Fridays at 9.30am, Embrace Dance Fitness, The Sail Loft, Commercial Road, Penryn (currently live-streamed on Zoom, with a return to studio classes expected in May 2021)

A blend of ballet-inspired toning exercises at the barre, followed by Pilates mat-work on the floor. No dance experience is necessary... we don't take ourselves too seriously! Expect a sweaty, thigh-burning, bum and ab-shaking workout. The class is rounded off with a deep stretch to keep the muscles long and limber.

Classes can be booked for a low drop-in rate, or included in class membership packages, paid directly to Embrace Dance Fitness.

Mobirise

Personal Training

I believe in a well-rounded and varied fitness programme, to keep you engaged and evolving within our wellness routine. Exercises are derived from activities that you enjoy, from cycling to Pilates, or dance to martial arts. Bodyweight training is an underlying principle for many of the exercises, along with a range of equipment to suit your tastes and goals.

Training can be one-to-one (from £26) or semi-private (groups of two or three; from £16 p.p.), conducted at home or outdoors. Get in touch to find out about rates and discounts for multiple sessions.

Group Training

Classes have the ability to keep us motivated, accountable to others and socially engaged while we exercise. Many of my classes are geared towards parents with little ones in tow, though anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. These sessions are often a playgroup for the kids, whilst the adults have their own play and workout. Classes range from cardio interval and strength training mixes, to flexibility training and Pilates. Many are outdoors in scenic spots, whatever the weather, but a range of indoor options are available, too!

Elisabeth Watson

All my life, I have been in a constant state of motion, whether through dance, fitness, or travel. A native of Washington, D.C., I began dancing at a young age, and my passion for jazz, ballet, and modern dance led me to pursue a career in fitness training. Outside of fitness, I studied Romance Languages and Literatures, travelling and studying in Spain, Italy and throughout Europe, and later managing programmes for other university students to take their education abroad.

When I began Fired Up Fitness in 2005 in Washington, DC, I thrived on the group dynamics in classes such as total body conditioning, cardio kickboxing, aerobics, stretch and Spinning®. Personal Training has always excited me, as I love the journey of helping someone grow to their strongest and healthiest self, all while getting to know them and their story. In more recent years, since having my own small children and moving from London to Cornwall, many of my fitness classes have shifted to cater to parents with babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers in tow. Our kids play around us while we workout and everyone has a brilliant time. I love that they grow up with the understanding that exercise is fun and part of the routine! And in the process, we've created a wonderful, welcoming community of friends.
